The view
Every photo on the listing is shot by us during our stay. The view from the desk, the room, the lane outside. No stock images, no owner selfies.

Breathe in,
live & work
Homes and private rooms for remote workers in Himachal, Uttarakhand, Ladakh and Kashmir, by the week or the month. We stay two days in each one, then list the wifi speed, the power backup and what the desk looks out on.
Before a home goes live
Our team stays in every property for two days before it goes live. We work from the desk, test the wifi, sleep in the bed. A listing that fails a check does not get approved.

Every photo on the listing is shot by us during our stay. The view from the desk, the room, the lane outside. No stock images, no owner selfies.

Wifi speed tested inside the house, power backup checked, desk and chair tried for a full working day. The numbers and the date we tested go on the listing.

Every listing says how you reach the door, by road or up steps, and whether the lane is lit. It gives the distance to the nearest hospital and shops too. And from check-in to check-out, someone from our team picks up the phone around the clock.

How wfh. works
Every listing carries the wifi speed we measured, the power backup we checked and the weekly and monthly price.
Pick a move-in date and tell us how long you are staying. No payment at this step.
A real person checks your dates with the owner directly, usually the same day.
You pay only after everything is locked, and your card details never touch this site.
If anything goes wrong during your stay, someone from our team picks up the phone around the clock.
Listing is free. You set the weekly and monthly price, we bring you guests who stay longer, and you approve every booking before it happens.
FAQ
Work From Hills is a booking site for weekly and monthly stays in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir. We list whole homes and private rooms for people who work remotely and want time in the mountains without guessing about wifi, water or winter.
Stays start at one week. Most guests settle in for a month or more, and owners usually drop the rate as bookings get longer.
Both exist here. Some listings are entire homes, others are one private room in a lived-in property. Every listing says clearly which one it is before you book it.
No. The site takes your booking, not your money. We confirm the home with its owner, call you, and send an invoice. Online payment will come later; the personal confirmation is staying.
In the Himachal towns we cover, a month runs from about ₹12,000 in Barot or Shoja to ₹55,000 at the top of Shimla. Bir is the best value at ₹20,000 to ₹32,000, and Manali is the priciest at ₹30,000 to ₹50,000. Every listing shows its weekly and monthly price before you book.
If the listing says so, yes. We measure the speed in the house itself during our two-day stay and publish the number with the test date. We also check power backup so you know if the inverter covers the router. Anything above 20 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up handles a full day of calls, and fiber has reached most towns we list in Himachal and Uttarakhand.
Dharamkot or Manali if you want cafes and other remote workers around you. Landour or Bhimtal if you want quiet with dependable infrastructure. Save Leh for your second trip; the altitude asks for patience.
Nothing to list, and 10% on the bookings we bring you. With no bookings you pay nothing. For comparison, Airbnb charges hosts around 15.5% and Booking.com averages 15% before its add-ons. We never auto-charge you for ads or visibility, there are no hidden fees, and no exclusivity clause either.
You pick two days when the home is free and host us. We test the wifi, check the power backup, work a full day from the desk and photograph the property professionally, at no cost to you. If something fails a check, we tell you exactly what it was, and you can fix it and ask us back.
You do. You set the weekly and the monthly rate and can change them whenever you like. We will tell you honestly what stays like yours are going for, but the number is yours.
No. Every booking reaches you before anything is confirmed, and nothing is final until you say yes. Your calendar stays yours, including the weeks you want the house to yourself.
Remote workers settling in for weeks or months, not weekend crowds. That means fewer check-ins, longer tenancies, and guests who treat the place like a home because for that month it is one.
About wfh.
We tried working our own jobs from hill towns and kept finding the same gap between the listing and the stay: a desk facing a wall, a router that died with the power, an inverter that did not cover the router. Now our team stays two days in every home before it goes live, works a full day from the desk, and prints what we found on the listing.
