The room has a small table by the window with a chair pulled up to it and a kettle on top. The window looks out through conifers to an outdoor staircase with a green rail. Next to the bed, a door opens onto the balcony.
The house is painted yellow and has terraces on several levels. The roof has chairs facing a wide horizon, and another terrace has a brick fire pit among tall conifers. One photo shows a snow-topped range across a plain.
Safety in Dharamkot
Dharamkot has hosted long-stay travellers for decades, and the cafes on the main lane stay open until about 11 at night. The gaps are practical ones: one small pharmacy and no clinic in the village, so anything beyond the basics means a walk down to McLeod Ganj, and anything urgent means Delek Hospital's 24-hour emergency ward further down the hill.
